Our little man is still too little to appreciate Halloween, but Mom and Dad sure had fun dressing him up and visiting grandparents and cousins! It'll be quite the adventure next year, but we're excited. Having a baby around for holidays make them so much fun!!! We're already stoked for Christmas. :)

Family Vacation!

Once upon a time in October we went on a family vacation to California with the Hales clan! It was pretty exciting; the entire family got to come! We're up to a group of 14! Woot.

Jon, Torbin and I got to ride with my parents which was a nice break for us. Torbin loved the long ride and slept most of the way. First stop was Cedar City to see Megan!! Yay for Megan! It was fun to catch up for a minute- I miss her. (Don't you love how we're not looking at my camera?)

We got to Cali on Sunday. Monday the rest of the fam went to Disneyland, but we didn't want to brave the whole day with Torbin being so small, so we stayed at the condo which was right on the beach. Woot. We went to dinner at the Marina and just had fun relaxing.
Tuesday we went to Mickey's Halloween party. It was very wet. But we all looked good sportin our ponchos. :) Grandma and Grandpa were nice enough to watch Torbin while we went on some rides with Kolby and Cami, and some with Camron, Amy, and Bryscon.


To wait for the rain to go away we took a break on Wednesday from the parks and we went to the Newport Beach temple with Kolby and Cami. It was very nice.
Thursday we went to Seaworld!! (It was a much easier park with a baby because we could take him everywhere with us). Torbin watched the Sealion and Otter show... and that was about it. But he sure looked cute in his hat chillin in his stroller! We were seriously impressed with how they can train those animals! So cool.

At the beach again. :) Yay for the Moby sling. It was chilly but a nice day so we had a picnic. We went to the "El Torito" restaurant on Monday and so Camron decided that Torbin would become El Torito!! I wish I could type in Camron's accent... it's pretty funny.

Saturday we drove back, stopped in Primm to go on the awesome rollercoaster!!! (Just me, Dad, and Camron went, everyone else cheered us on) then we went to the outlets in Vegas. After a poosplosion and a change of clothes Torbin got caught behind the wheel with Daddy! :)

We had so much fun hanging out with everyone!! It was a nice break for Jon and very nice for me to get to spend the whole week with Jon without work!! Yay. It's probably the last big family vacay we'll go on for a while since our numbers are always growing.

Blessed!

This smile just melts my heart!!!! Our little man has been smiling up a storm but I barely caught it on camera! He usually shys away from the camera, but still knows how to perform on cue, he's a smart cookie. He is the light of our lives and we have so much fun with him! Jon is having fun teaching him little tricks, and Torbin is having fun peeing on Jon. ha ha :) I'm finally figuring out how to get things accomplished during the day, but sometimes I still just sit and love on Torbin or just watch his cuteness. I can't help it. It amazes me everyday that I'm a mom and the we have such an angel baby. We are so blessed.

Torbin was blessed on Sunday, 10-10-10, and it was a wonderful day! It was a little surreal for Jon and I to be the parents of the baby being blessed, but it was still amazing. We are lucky to have such a supportive family and most of them made the trek out to Eagle Mtn for the event. Since our families have changed a lot we took the opportunity to take updated family pictures!!

TORBIN

Introducing:
Torbin Jonathan Bay

After all the talk about sharing birthdays and wedding days our little Torbin decided to come on his own time and we are so glad that he did!!! We made it through Kolby and Cami's wedding on Friday, and Tom's birthday on Saturday but as soon as the party was over and the stress was gone, he started his own party on August 22. I started having contractions early Sunday morning... really early. I didn't think it was really labor until Jon convinced me to start timing how far apart the pain was. By the time we started counting the contractions were only 9 minutes apart and getting closer. Since we live in boonie town I called the hospital to see if it was worth coming in; luckily the nurse said yes!! So after a shower we made the trek into town to have a baby at about 5:30 am.
When we got to the hospital I was dilated to a 5 so I got an epidural pretty quick and the rest of the night went very smoothly. Jon was by my side the enitre time and was very helpful. By 9:00 am I was dilated to an 8 and fully efaced and the doctor broke my water. He left to go to church meetings and came back just in time to help Torbin make his grand entrance. I only had to push for like a half hour and our little man was born at 11:58 am. A "textbook delivery" is what the doc said. And after 9 months of a less than enjoyable pregnancy we were all relieved things went so well. We are very blessed. He's perfect! 6 lbs. 11 oz. and 18.5 in. long. Two of his toes on each foot are webbed and it's so cute!!!! We're biased of course, but really think he is a perfect little angel.

It took us almost all of Sunday to decide on his name and it drove our families crazy. We knew what his name wasn't but weren't in a hurry to decide. We had both thought Torbin most of the day, but it wasn't til about 8 pm we actually decided to alert the presses. Torbin is a Danish name and his middle name is after his Daddy and family tradition.

We still can't believe that we are parents but we love it and love our little man!! We laugh a lot (like in this picture) at all his cute faces and changing diapers and cry a little when we think of how much we love him and how blessed we are (and when I'm really tired). We're totally in love with Torbin!! He seems to have that effect on people. His cousins can't stop talking about him. Brynn calls him her little brother, and Michael thinks he is his baby. Brycson still calls him Cowabunga Bay Optimus Prime Bay and is excited to teach him all about Transformers. Emily can't get over his soft hair, and Claire just smiles all the time.
Torbin grows up more and more everyday and gets cuter and cuter by the minute. We really are so blessed to have him in our lives. He's such a good baby. We are all happy and doing well. Yay for Torbin!!!

Count Down

So men have this ability to stretch out their stomach muscles to look pregnant no matter how skinny they may be. My brothers pose like this all the time, and it was finally my turn to join in (this was at like 33 weeks ish). Gotta love the bellies! Even Emily and Brycson wanted to be involved! So cute!

August is finally here and it's the month of countdowns!!!
Baby shower tonight, Tool shower for Kolby tomorrow. Family party Saturday.
Annie starts next week August 12-14. It'll be a great show! Go see it.
The Colsons come home from Jordan and we get to see them!
Cami goes through the temple on the 13th.
Kolby and Cami get married on the 20th!!!! YAY!!
Jon's done with his last class on the 21st!!! Woot Woot!!!
and...
Baby Bay will make his debut sometime soon!! He's due on the 30th and I'm hoping he'll come in August, but if not by Labor Day for sure.

On top of all that we have birthdays like CRAZY!!! So here's a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Jimmy, Grandma Loll, Tom, Camron, Nic, and Emily!!!

One more thing to make a busy month even better is that I'm getting things ready to start teaching dance in October! My friend Tammy is opening her basement for business! A preschool in the day with Tylee Hill teaching (leapsandboundspreschool.blogspot.com). And then a dance studio at night with ME teaching! woot. We're not starting til October because of the new baby, but please keep us in mind when you are thinking of dance classes this fall! Jon is also going to help me teach and I'm SO excited! We will be offering jazz, modern, lyrical/ballet, ballroom, and creative movement. Aerobics/yoga twice a week. And monthly ballroom date nights where you can come sway with your sweetie!! It's about time!

Time is a funny thing, sometimes it flies by, and sometimes one day seems like an eternity!!!! I feel like I just posted last week, and yet it's been like 6 weeks. So here we have an update; I know... it's about time! Sheesh. :) The first 7 months of this pregnancy flew by... but now I feel like time has stopped and nothing is progressing anymore. But looking back at all that has happened, progress is there. Thankfully. :)

June was a crazy month full of scouts, YW camp planning, doctor's visits, play practice and family events.
*Brittany came home from her mission!!!! It's fun to have her as a sister! When she left I hadn't even met Jon yet. I went to her farewell as a bitter old-maid, sworn off dating and finding my prince. And went to her homecoming married to her amazing brother, my prince charming, and 7 months pregnant!! Wow- a lot can happen in 18 months!
*Brynn had her first dance recital. She's such a princess and it was fun to see her dance!
*I experienced my first Ween-O-Rama! And it was just that, quite the experience!
*Got to cut back my hours at work to part-time because of doctors orders. :) Hallelujah! I'm glad to work less, but bummed to have to basically be on bed rest when I'm not at work. This baby is having a grand ol' time with my body! Contractions and muscle spasms for 2 months now. Gotta love it! Each day something new happens that makes things more uncomfortable! I hope that means he's ready to come out soon!!!

July is turning out to be just as crazy! But I think that's just the way our lives will always be.
*Heather threw me my first baby shower and it was SO fun! It's weird that just last year we were throwing each other bridal showers. I have great friends! Even though I don't see them often, we can get together after months and still have a grand time.
*I got to see fireworks! I love the 4th of July!!! It was so fun to have a nice relaxing weekend full of family stuff!
*Jon and I celebrated our 1 YEAR Anniversary! Woot! Neither of us had to work on the 5th because of the holiday so we boycotted the world and just spent the day together and it was amazing! We are still SO in love, and it just gets worse everyday! ;)
*We went up to the Bay Cabin. It was so fun! We saw a moose, and deer, played games, took a lot of naps, and bonded as a fam! Last time we went Becky was prego, this time it was my turn... it seems we've started a tradition!
*Girl's Camp was a success!! The girls all had fun and no major drama! I was able to go up Wednesday and Friday for some of the festivities and Jon braved it all with me. He's such a trooper to drive all the way up there just to take care of me and make sure I was ok and not doing too much! Have a mentioned lately that I love him!?!!?

The rest of the summer shouldn't be too bad, but we do have a baby and a wedding to get ready for! It should be adventurous.

As of Late...

So it's been awhile, so here's a few highlights of what has been happening as of late with our little family. :) Mostly we just work, but amazingly enough we still find time to play and have fun around the house. We went to Bear Lake with Jon's family and it was, COLD. But we had a lot of fun too. It was an adventure to get there, with a few detours and snow storms but we made it.

Jon graduated from Argosy University with his MBA!! He still has a few things to finish, but he got to walk and it was awesome! I'm so proud of him for working so hard with his job AND school! He's amazing, and I'm so proud that he's my husband!

To get ready for out little bambino we painted his room! It was a nice awkward shade of green that I just couldn't handle anymore, so we painted it this tan and I love it now!! We'll have a white crib in there soon with many cute accessories!! We are finally getting things ready, only took us 6 months of knowing he was coming! Ha ha.

I got this fan for my birthday and Jon and Mark put it up last weekend and I LOVE IT!! They are so good to me! We haven't had to use it much with the recent snow, but I'm sure it'll come in handy in the dead of summer and even more pregnant! Most people probably aren't excited about a ceiling fan, but I love it!!

And yep, here I am, big and pregnant!! This was at like 24 weeks and I'm even bigger now. :) Our little man is quite the mover and I love feeling him almost all day long. He's growing on schedule and all is well. Hopefully he'll stay on schedule now that my little brother is getting married August 20!! Ah! The wedding shouldn't interfere with the babe, but you never know, it could be a very adventurous day.
To add to the craziness I'm helping choreograph for "Annie" in Bluffdale, I'm still in the midst of planning girl's camp, and we teach the Bear Scouts. We're finishing part of our basement, and trying to maintain our yard. We go to soccer games and family events and if we are lucky we have a night at home alone! I guess our craziness now is just getting us ready for the baby craziness in less than 3 months!!!! Life is good! We're happy! And all is well. :)
